Because When Time Runs Out We Have Nothing
“A simple painting where the hourglass take centre stage. A power station ‘chugs’ away polluting the atmosphere while rising sea levels threaten to engulf it with the flooding sead water. In stark contrast, severse drought attacks land once full of green pasture leading to the wildfires destroying large areas of trees so the cycle continues.
The dark sky is the emptiness that will find us if we don’t get a grip of what we’re doing to our planet. The tiny spots of colour in the sky represent distans planets that may contain other life forms. They are way out of reach for us so we’ll never know one way or the other.
Specks of white are the floating debris from various forms of pollution we choose to send skyward.
The hourglass depicts the sea ice rapidly melting away causing the chain reaction that affects everything else. One day, the top of the hourglass will be empty – meaning when time runs out we have nothing. “
