Acrylic painting on canvas by Andrew
The word HEADCASE brings lots of thoughts to mind – usually strange or dark.
I was recently doing a cryptic crossword and the clue was headcase. Of course, the answer had to be SKULL. The idea was born.
The theme of portraits was something I had to consider away from what I normally create.
I wanted the artwork to be different and the challenge was for a portraiture idea away from what might be expected.
A skull is the base of what we are, it holds the control room of what we do, how we act, think and grow etc.
My skull could be anyone and the hand gives the deviousness of what it might be thinking/planning.
The background is just experimental.
